Adding a key or all keys lost?
If you still have one working key, adding a key is the simpler and usually less expensive job. The new key is cut and programmed alongside the key you already have.
If no working key is left, the job takes more steps: we have to get into the vehicle, make a key from the vehicle information, and program it to the immobilizer. Any keys that were lost can be erased from the vehicle during programming, where the procedure allows it.
Factory software and secured access
On many Ford vehicles we can program keys with professional key programming equipment. Some Ford and Lincoln security procedures require Ford's factory diagnostic software and a registered security professional login; NASTF notes that some 2013 and newer Ford vehicles need these credentials for functions such as adding keys or parameter resets.
We hold an active NASTF Vehicle Security Professional registration and a Ford FDRS subscription. These give access to the security functions Ford releases through its own systems; they do not unlock every function on every vehicle. Whether a procedure is possible depends on the model, year, and vehicle system, and we confirm it before the visit.
