Replacement keys made at your vehicle
Most keys today do more than turn a lock. Many contain a transponder chip that talks to the car’s immobilizer, and many remotes and smart keys have to be paired to the vehicle before they work. Replacing one usually means two steps: cutting the blade, if there is one, and programming the electronics.
Because we are a mobile service, both steps happen where the car is parked — your driveway, a parking lot, or your workplace in Vancouver. No tow to a shop is needed for most jobs.

How a car key replacement works
Every car is a little different, but a replacement key visit usually follows these steps.
Tell us about the car. Year, make and model, and whether you still have a working key. That tells us whether this is a simple spare or an all-keys-lost job, and which key to bring. If you can, send a photo of the key or the FCC ID / part number printed on it.
Ownership check. Before we cut or program anything, we confirm that you own the vehicle or are authorized to service it: registration, title or insurance card, plus ID.
Identify the system and the key. We confirm the vehicle’s immobilizer type and choose a compatible key by part number, chip and frequency, not just by how it looks.
Quick check before programming. If the car shows warning lights, a weak battery or other signs of a fault, we check that first instead of starting programming on a system with a problem.
Cut the blade. If the key has a metal blade, we cut it by code or from the lock and test it in the door and ignition.
Program the key. We use the method the vehicle supports: an on-board procedure, a professional key programmer, or factory software when the procedure requires it.
Test it. Several starts, the lock, unlock and trunk buttons and, on smart keys, keyless entry and push-button start.
Hand-off. We show you what was done and how many keys the car now accepts.
Equipment and care
We use professional equipment and, depending on the vehicle and the procedure, factory software. Before programming we make sure the new key matches your car’s system, and afterward we test every function the key supports. If your car needs a step we can’t complete on-site, we tell you before we start.
Ownership verification
Before we make or program any key, we verify ownership. Please have the vehicle registration, title, or insurance card ready, or have the registered owner present. This protects you and every other vehicle owner in Vancouver.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring my car anywhere?
No. We work on site at the vehicle’s location in Vancouver and the surrounding Clark County area.
I still have one key. Is that helpful?
Yes. A working key often makes adding a new one simpler. Let us know when you contact us. If every key is gone, see our page on all car keys lost.
Can you program a key I bought online?
Sometimes. Many aftermarket keys are not compatible or cannot be programmed. Send us a photo of the key and its FCC ID or part number and we will tell you before we come out. For remotes and push-to-start fobs, see key fob and smart key programming.
What information should I have ready?
The year, make, and model, whether you have a working key, where the vehicle is, and proof of ownership.
