GM services we offer

What we need from you

  • Year, make, and model (for example, 2017 Chevrolet Silverado or 2020 GMC Sierra)

  • The VIN

  • How many working keys you have, and whether the vehicle has push-button start

  • Where the vehicle is parked

Adding a key or all keys lost?

With one working key, adding a key is usually the faster and simpler job.

When every key is lost, we have to make a key from the vehicle information and program it to the vehicle. On some newer GM vehicles this is done online through GM's factory programming system, which adds steps and a per-vehicle fee.

Factory software and secured access

Many GM vehicles can be programmed with professional key programming equipment. Some newer GM vehicles require GM's factory software and a registered security professional login for key programming.

We use GM's factory programming software where a procedure requires it, and we hold an active NASTF Vehicle Security Professional registration. That registration gives access to the security information GM releases through its own systems; it does not cover every function on every vehicle. We confirm what your vehicle needs before the visit.

Ownership verification

Before we make or program any key, we verify ownership. Please have the vehicle registration, title, or insurance card ready, or have the registered owner present.
