Why Mercedes-Benz keys are different
Mercedes-Benz has used several key systems over the years, from classic metal keys on older models to infrared and radio-frequency keys and newer smart keys. The right approach depends heavily on the specific model and year, and on whether you still have a working key.
Because of that, we do not quote a Mercedes job without the details. We would rather tell you up front what is possible for your car than find out in your driveway.
How we can help
-
Additional keys when you have a working one
-
Replacement keys when a key is lost or damaged
-
Diagnosing a key that no longer starts the car
-
Checking whether a key you already have can be used
Some Mercedes-Benz jobs require parts ordered for your specific vehicle. If that applies, we will explain it before scheduling.
Older and classic models
Owners of older Mercedes-Benz roadsters and sedans often need a second key for a car that has been running on one for years. Send us the model, year, and a photo of your current key and we will check the options.
